i really think you should do more songs like this. i'm not a fan of dubstep by any stretch, but i love the way you did this one. vocal samples were awesome, i love the reggae vibes this gives off. nice work.

Dubstop responds:

Thank you man! To have impressed somebody who's not a dubhead to begin with is an accomplishment in my books! Appreciate the feedback, I think I will stick to producing this style of music in future :)

nice and fast..i can definitely see this in an old school video game. maybe street fighter or something. awesome work.

awesome

I'm trying to think of a vocalist that you sound like with this style, but I'm drawing blanks..I like how it sounds though, it has a kinda old school vibe to it. nice. I love those guitars. Everything came together perfect on this one. Nice work.

LupeGarcon responds:

Warmth. Punk is lacking in that department. These new wave punkers are forgetting what made the old school so kick ass.

awesome

i'll give you 1 star for every second of awesomeness. 10 seconds=10 stars. that was easy.

seriously though, i really like that tone you're using. do you ever plan on making this into a full song?

Awesome

I have to disagree about the drums. While I generally tend to prefer faster drums(I listen to a lot of Punk), I think the drums in this song fit the style perfectly. Besides that, I prefer to pay attention to the more important aspects of a song, such as the guitar and vocals. I thought the singing was really well-done in this song, as well as the bass. The guitar was a little simple, but I liked it. Lyrically, I don't really understand it, but maybe the lyrics are a bit deeper than my mind can go. Either way, it gives a bit of a haunting feel. Awesome job.

Hey Jon, I really appreciate the review. We don't write many songs like this so I'm glad you dug something a bit slower and more minimalist. Haunting and melancholy was what we were going for. I still love hearing the delayed bass line during the chorus. This song and On/Off were recorded in the abandoned gas station we use to practice at.

i love it

for your first time, you did really well..i love that bassline. organ was really nice too. i sampled this track into a hip hop beat of mine, check it out if you ever get the time :)

dude

i love that piano. i definitely prefer your old school stuff, but this was amazing.

my God man.....

this is amazing. i mean, it IS only drums and scratches, but the scratches are out-of-this-world amazing. scratches are one of my favorite parts of hip hop. really beautiful work on this.

nice

this is really awesome. i love that bassline and the guitar that comes in at 1:24. if you don't mind, i'm going to try to sample this into a hip hop beat. nice work on this, really nice.

khgk
