beautiful piece. i love the strings especially. strings are one of my favorite instruments in classical. the percussion was nice as well. once this is finished, it'll be amazing. sounds like a really emotional track.

Echo responds:

Glad you liked it! The string section is a particular favorite of mine too and i like to use string instruments in most of my songs.

Thanks for the review and the ten, much appreciated!

awesome.

i love the lyrics in this. reminds me of when i used to play Oblivion at all hours of the day and night. i like your flow too, really adds to the "nerdiness" of this track. wish i could say more, but i really don't know what else to say. i love it, that is all.
by the way, can you give me a link to the beat? i'd like to hear the instrumental as well.

NoCoins responds:

The instrumental is off of a downloaded zip, it's a full album of beats that he made. I will PM you the link to the download.
I am happy that you enjoyed this track, thanks for the kind words JRocker.

sounds nice. i like those electronica samples. drums were awesome. there were a few parts where i thought there was a little too much going on though. too many sounds playing at once. remember, keep it simple. it doesn't have to be extremely complex to be a good song. overall it was really good, i like your style.

buyj3llo responds:

thankyou . too much going on in some parts? okay. I can see that.

drums were a bit too loud about :55-1:00 and then again around 1:13-1:15, and again right at the end. other than that, this is pretty much the embodiment of my favorite style of hip hop. the bass is amazing, and i'm a sucker for scratched vocal samples such as the one you used. nice work on this one, really nice. keep it up.

Syntrus responds:

oh cool give me a sec i'll turn it down a bit.

catchy

for a first song, it's pretty nice sounding. kinda repetitive, i'd work on that a bit. needs a little bit more variation than what you have going on here. it's pretty happy sounding though, i like that. overall, it's a pretty good song. it's definitely catchy.

JayEnn responds:

Thanks for the review and the tips. :)
I'll put more variations next time. Again, thanks for taking some time to review my first song. I appreciate it.

i really think you should do more songs like this. i'm not a fan of dubstep by any stretch, but i love the way you did this one. vocal samples were awesome, i love the reggae vibes this gives off. nice work.

Dubstop responds:

Thank you man! To have impressed somebody who's not a dubhead to begin with is an accomplishment in my books! Appreciate the feedback, I think I will stick to producing this style of music in future :)

awesome

I'm trying to think of a vocalist that you sound like with this style, but I'm drawing blanks..I like how it sounds though, it has a kinda old school vibe to it. nice. I love those guitars. Everything came together perfect on this one. Nice work.

LupeGarcon responds:

Warmth. Punk is lacking in that department. These new wave punkers are forgetting what made the old school so kick ass.

Awesome

I have to disagree about the drums. While I generally tend to prefer faster drums(I listen to a lot of Punk), I think the drums in this song fit the style perfectly. Besides that, I prefer to pay attention to the more important aspects of a song, such as the guitar and vocals. I thought the singing was really well-done in this song, as well as the bass. The guitar was a little simple, but I liked it. Lyrically, I don't really understand it, but maybe the lyrics are a bit deeper than my mind can go. Either way, it gives a bit of a haunting feel. Awesome job.

DreamsfromGin responds:

Hey Jon, I really appreciate the review. We don't write many songs like this so I'm glad you dug something a bit slower and more minimalist. Haunting and melancholy was what we were going for. I still love hearing the delayed bass line during the chorus. This song and On/Off were recorded in the abandoned gas station we use to practice at.

Personally, I think the bad quality gives it more of an old school feel. I like it a lot. If I could hear the vocals enough to distinguish them, this would be badass.

i9incher responds:

haha thanks man, yeah i think the only problem with this is the vox. maybe some day i will be able to make a higher quality version but who knows.

good beyond words. i love tribal sounds in the intro, and the rhythm guitars that kick in later in the song. is that a guitar VST, or a real guitar? sounds amazing.

RealPublic responds:

It's a real guitar.
I used Line 6 Pocket POD Express specifically for that, plus some effects in Logic to polish it.

THanks for your comment and a high score.
